One of the final programs of car overhauls performed at C&NW’s Clinton IA car shops were the repainting of 98 former CMKX covered hoppers. These 4750 cuft cars were built by Trinity Industries in 1979. The first three of the cars released under this program (471713, 471783 and 471796) had the large CNW applied to the sides of cars. The remaining cars done under this program did not have the CNW applied to there sides, making these 3 cars unique. Ready to run special edition car by Intermountain, Micro-Trains trucks and couplers, metal roof walks, and metal wheels. Available in 3 numbers only. (HO model shown)
