Chicago Passenger Terminal, aerial photo2872 viewsThis view of the C. P.T. looks north in the days when small airplanes could fly at will. The date is probably the early 1950's. The Madison St. entrance to the Terminal is visible. The Lake Street elevated crosses the throat of the tracks near the end of the train shed. While most details are too small, the overview shows the layout of the tracks and the path of the Chicago River. C&NW Trans Co. photo, submitted by Joe Pierson.

Chicago Passenger Terminal, looking south2855 viewsThis view of the C.P.T. looks south over the train shed and then the back of the head house. The Lake Street elevated is in the near foreground and a stub-end baggage/express area just beyond. There is no date on the photo, but it is probably the early 1950's. The City of Chicago demanded the removal huge sign in the upper left in 1972. The UP withdrew its share of the sign, and its logo, in Oct. 1955 when the Streamliners were pulled. Sign rebuilt 1956.
